German Baroque Arias & Cantatas

This concert features some of the finest works by Handel and Bach.

Edmonton’s own soprano superstar Dawn Bailey will be featured in 3 of Handel’s German arias. Bach’s spectacular cantata 158 will be sung by bass Roderick Bryce.

Baroque violinist Naomi Delafield will perform Bach’s hauntingly beautiful Adagio from the violin sonata in G minor, while Josephine van Lier will play the 2nd cello suite in d minor on baroque cello.

Handel wrote several splendid duets for soprano, bass, and continuo, and three of those will finish the program.

With a cast of stellar Alberta period performers, this concert will be a delight for the senses.
